about

A collection of our songs that appeared on 7" singles and/or compilations...

Some Boys and Shut Up I Never were recorded at Inner Ear with Ian Mackaye and Don Zientara in December of 2002 and released on 7" on Hugh's label, Ruffian Records. They were also the first 2 songs we wrote as a band.

Have Been Murdered Again is an early version of Someone Has His Fingers Broken and was recorded by Hugh in our practice space. This recording originally was released on a split 7" with Early Humans on Planaria Recordings.

Ten (pts 1 and 2) were recorded in our practice space by Hugh and released on a compilation called "Closet Full of Clothes" released on LP by White Denim. This track was recorded at the same time as the S/T demos.

Our cover of No Sleep by the ever amazing Huggy Bear was recorded again in our practice space by Hugh. It was intended to be released on a Huggy Bear cover compilation that Dim Mak and Hand Held Heart were going to co-release. Unfortunately that record never happened...but we recorded this version in the summer of 2003 (at the same time that we recorded the Cough Demos) and this cover became a staple of our sets for much of 2003/2004.

about

Black Eyes Washington, D.C.

Black Eyes formed in August of 2001 and the band’s first full-length arrived two years later via Dischord. Their shows were chaotic and often melted down into frenzied jam sessions. A second full-length, "Cough", came out in May of 2004. The album introduced saxophone to the mix and relied more heavily on improvisational and dub influences. The band broke up shortly before the album was released. ... more
